I thought the whole piece was great!
Both parts as a script are amazing. But as far as this production goes, let's be honest here, peeps: Sarah and David held that entire show together; props must also be extended to Rowena and Saba. When you see the visceral power of them, please respond back while you're on stage. Do something. Static natures never outshine dynamic pulses. Nevertheless, this is the best Cal Rep show I've seen, so kudos on that... But at the same time, this should be the minimum ever expected from Cal Rep.
I enjoyed watching the show a lot! It is even hard to point out one favorite part because the whole play was just great, both parts 1 and 2. I liked how the ending of part 2 connected to the beginning of part 1... not the baby (because honestly, I thought that was a little too strange) but the golden watch. My favorite character is J.T. Wells when he gave up on his business and told Mary Anne the truth. I thought it showed that he actually has a human heart and is not enjoying cheating people.
Not only the script but the designs of the stage, costumes, lights, sound, and props, and of course the actors were amazing! Lastly, I loved seeing my professor on stage!
